How to play Texas holdem and holdem tournaments

Texas holdem is a very popular poker game and is played on a large poker table with Texas holdem poker chips. Usually the number of players range from 2 to 10. If you can learn the game and understand the rules then it is easy and simple to play the cards game, but it is very difficult to play well and win the game consistently as you require learning the various strategies and skills to master the game.

There are a few terms that you require to get familiar with if you are a beginner of Texas holdem and the terms are as follows: blind, burn card, button, check, flop, showdown, turn, chip sets etc., these are only a few of the common terms used in game of holdem.

The holdem is termed to as a community card poker game and mainly concentrates on betting using the clay poker chips which are used instead of money. Holdem is played as a cash game as well as a tournament. Playing tournament would require you to learn a few added rules even though the main rules are the same.

There are basically three classifications in the card game which are as follows: the setup, betting rounds and showdown the initial step being the setup. The game begins with the setup stage where the players are seated around the table along with their chip sets.

Once the players are ready to play with their poker chip sets one of the players is chosen to deal the cards the dealer changes after each hand and the person sitting to the left of the first dealer would deal next and the dealing rotates after completion of each hand.

The small and big blinds are selected by two players sitting to the left of the dealer one each. The size of the blinds is the determining factor of the stakes that you are going to make with your clay poker chips. All the betting in the game is done using chips.

All the players are given two cards which are termed as hole cards which are private cards that the players alone can view. The betting starts once the blinds are set and the hole cards are dealt. A hand of holdem should have a minimum of one bet and a maximum of four bets. Once the betting is over the game ends with a show down in which all the player shows their card and then matched with each other and the person with the highest rank of hands would win the bet and win the chip sets placed on the table.
